WELCOME TO THE NORTH PACIFIC CHAPTER OF ASI!
Convention Update:
Our annual regional convention was held at the Riverside Hotel in Boise April 26-29. The meetings were a real blessing to all who attended. We were blessed by messages from Jim Gilley sharing inspiration and testimonies from the experiences he has been through in his own life and with 3ABN. Kevin Wilfley, senior pastor of the Spokane Linwood Church shared an inspiring seminar on how our individual thinking styles affect our spirituality. We had the pleasure of two representatives from National ASI being with us all weekend as well. Past Presidents, Denzil McNeilus and his wife Donna traveled from their home in Minnesota, sharing with us from their personal experiences and taking part in interviewing "Members in Action". Throughout the weekend, these Members in Action segments inspired us as we heard how our members are sharing Christ in their own marketplaces. Kelly Coffin of Wayfare Foods in Montana ended the weekend Sunday morning with an inspiring testimony of how he came to the Lord and be a part of ASI.
Our annual offering was taken on Sabbath, totaling more than $20,000. Two ministries were chosen to benefit from the offering this year. The Oregon Adventist Men's Chorus will receive a portion of the offering to enable them to extend scholarships to young men from our local academies to join the musical mission trip to South Africa in July 2012. Around a hundred men from North America and Romania will join two hundred men and a full orchestra in a ministry of reconciliation and revival in South Africa. International Children's Care, based in Vancouver, Washington will receive the other portion of the offering to fund a project at one of their orphanages in Guatemala. They will be planting pony palm, a popular cash crop that once planted will support itself and generate extra income for the needs in Guatemala.
